LOTR Illustrated Guitar by Vivian Xiao

Exquisitely detailed enough to be crafted in the forest realm of Lothlórien, this beauteous guitar was not forged by elf nor man, but by 16 year Vivian Xiao with sharpie markers! Depicting Nazgul, Minas Tirith, and even the all-seeing Eye of Sauron, this divinely-engraved instrument could surely inspire even more Led Zeppelin songs. Check put Vivian’s website for details on purchasing and commissions.

Paige Bradley created one of the most striking sculptures I’ve seen in recent times. Her masterpiece, entitled Expansion, is a beautiful woman seeking inner piece but fractured and bleeding with light. “From the moment we are born, the world tends to have a container already built for us to fit inside: a social security number, a gender, a race, a profession,” says Bradley. “I ponder if we are more defined by the container we are in than what we are inside. Would we recognize ourselves if we could expand beyond our bodies?”

Gregory Euclide - Otherworldly: Optical Delusions and Small Realities (2011) - Oil on canvas landscape, collected litter and other materials from Central Park, NYC

Artist’s statement:

“I painted a large traditional landscape that flows onto the floor and toward a fifth-floor window overlooking Central Park. The work consists of several dioramas built from materials that were collected on walks as well as several paper casts from boulders in Central Park.”
